DESCRIPTION:Concept Development Training\nA three-hour training on teaching techniques that utilize higher order thinking skills instead of rote memorization to build critical thinking in your classroom that will support student’s cognitive development\, self-regulation\, social interactions\, and increase their vocabulary. \nTopics will include: understanding learning styles\, effective open-ended questioning\, scaffolding techniques\, student encouragement and affirmation\, self & parallel talk implementation\, language modeling strategies\, and natural consequences versus punitive control. \nParticipants will deepen their understanding of these concepts during the training through concrete examples\, interactive activities\, and group discussions.\nCheck-in starts at 8:30 a.m. Training starts promptly at 9:00 a.m. \nNo one will be admitted into training after 9:00 a.m.\nSaturday March 9\, 2024\n9:00 am to 12:00 pm\nLocation: Virtual Platform\nThis is an interactive virtual training; participants MUST have internet access as well as access to a tablet or computer with VIDEO.\nRegistration is open to all Early Care and Education Professionals!\n Advance registration only – No same day registrations – No Exceptions!\n \nDeadline March 2 \, 2024 – Limited Space\, First Come\, First Served ~ Register Early!  \nMust have a CA ECE Workforce Registry number to register – www.caregistry.org \n3 hours of Professional Growth hours will be awarded after completion of the training
