How Can You Be Appointed to your Local Planning Council?

The LPC membership is comprised of 20% from each of the following categories

  • Public Agencies – Representatives of city, county or local education agencies
  • Community – Representatives of agencies, or businesses that provide private funding for child care services or civic or community-based organizations that advocate for child care services
  • Discretionary – Representatives who shall be appointed at the discretion of the Board of Supervisors and/or the County Superintendent of Schools
  • Consumers – Representatives of persons who receive, or have received child care services including parents, grandparents, foster parents
  • Providers – Representatives of the range of child care providers in the county including centers, family child care homes
